Be it any instance of RAID failure, Stellar ensures 100% risk-free and timely RAID data recovery from any configurations of RAID levels.
Be it servers and huge data storage boxes (SAN, NAS) including the simple RAID levels (RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5) to the complex RAID levels (RAID 6, RAID 6EE, RAID 50 etc), Stellar recovers all.
With its advanced RAID recovery tools, techniques, in-house Research & Development, skilled RAID recovery experts, and state of the art infrastructure of CLASS 100 Clean Room labs, Stellar has been recovering data from any occurrence of logical or physical RAID failure.
Causes that lead to data loss in different RAID levels:
There can be one or the combination of multiple causes behind RAID failure. Some of the most common causes are as below:
- Rebuild Failure
- RAID controller failure
- RAID Array Failure
- Corruption to the RAID configuration
- Damaged Strip
- Server Not Booting
- Partition/volume not found
- Hardware Failure
- Operating system up-gradation or any application malfunction
In a systems having RAID level 5 or above, failure of a single disk can be easily rebuilt by replacing the troubled disk with a healthy disk, however, the situation becomes complex, when there is a simultaneous failure of multiple disks. In such a situation, any small mistake can further the situation worse, resulting in the permanent loss of your valuable data beyond recovery.

Dos & Don'ts at the time of RAID Failure:
In case of RAID failure, you must follow the below mentioned guidelines to avoid further damage or loss of data inside the RAID Array.
- Mark all the attached drives according to their positions in the RAID array and do not ever change the sequence.
- Always check the health of other hard drives in the RAID array before rebuilding.
- Ensure that the new disk for rebuilding is zero filled and must have greater than or equal to the number of sectors, contained in the troubled disk.
- Never run any disk-repair utility on the troubled hard drive.
- Never run any disk-defragmentor on any drive without checking the health of the same.
- Immediately stop rebuilding operation, once multiple disks fail during the process.
